Psalm 61 – A Place To Get Away From It All

3. You’ve always given me breathing room,
a place to get away from it all,

4. A lifetime pass to Your safe-house,
an open invitation as Your guest.

5. You’ve always taken me seriously, God,
made me welcome among those who know and love You.

7. Post Steady Love and Good Faith as lookouts.

8. And I’ll be the poet who sings Your glory—
and live what I sing every day.

The Message (MSG)

Did you know the New Testament was written in informal Greek? Common street language. Why? So everyone, from the lowest to the highest would understand what they were reading. 'Cause the good news is for everyone!

Since then, there have been numerous translations. Some even tried to elevate the language used. After all, we're dealing with a holy God and holy things should be stately and ceremonial, right? ;)

I'd like to point out that the Word of God is infallible. Translations are not. Every translation has errors.

I personally read mainly four translations, the NKJV, NIV, NLT and the Message. While I love all these translations, it's the Message translation that makes me fall in love with God even more, every time I read it.

We all are uniquely made. There isn't a one size fits all. I wanna encourage you to find the translation that speaks to you.

I'm a poet, the Message speaks to me. When I crack it open, I find Papa waiting there for me, every time.

And if you're worried it's not accurate enough, there's this wonderful app, YouVersion, you can cross reference every verse if you like with any translation :)

Don't be held hostage by people who claim there's only one true translation.

There's only one God, but He speaks to each of us differently with the same Message.

So go read your Bible, and start a conversation with this good, good Father of ours!

PS that's not to say there won't be songs with NKJV. There will be, soon, and boy are they beautiful :)

PS II We're receiving testimonies of people being healed, listening and singing along with our songs. If you're among those people, please share your testimony with us. We love hearing about it!
