You know what I really like about this Psalm? The author is no stranger to hard times, sadness and fear.

But he refuses to stay there. In his mind he's already seeing himself praising God. That's where his hope lies. It's as if he's standing next to his heart and soul and asks them, why are you so sad and discouraged? Don't you know my hope is with Him, with God? And I will praise Him again!

Which leads to the question, what do you do? Do you consciously or subconsciously choose to stay in your fear and anxiety?

I mean, if you constantly feed your mind, your soul with fear, with anxiety, then your imagination will feed you only that: fear and anxiety, a worst case scenario.

This Psalm writer knew where to look for his hope. Yes, he was afraid, discouraged even, but in his mind, in his heart he was already seeing himself praising God. He was hopeful.

Bottomline is: do you believe God when He tells you "I know the plans I have for you, they are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." (Jer 29:11)

Or do you let the world and what you see around you dictate your circumstances and future?

If so, then it's time to fill your thoughts with Phil 4 verse 8, yes..look it up! 😋👌

PS next week no Psalm release. Janis and I will be in Brazil from Nov 2 - 14 with @one_in_him_foundation and @johan_toet We will visit the slums and addict centres and we're fully expecting to see God move in great power there.
