Psalm 31 – Blessed God

7. I’m leaping and singing in the circle of Your love;
You saw my pain.

1. I run to You, God;
I run for dear life.
Don’t let me down!

19. Ready and waiting for all who run to You
to escape an unkind world.

Blessed God!
His love is the wonder of the world.

23. Love God, all you saints;
God takes care of all who stay close to Him,

19. Blessed God!
[Your] love is the wonder of the world.

24. Be brave. Be strong. Don’t give up.
Expect God to get here soon.

The Message Translation (MSG).

Not many worship or praise songs are about God. I mean, most of the time, they're about us. Our pain, our suffering, our looking for answers etc. And that's ok. We are a needy people ;)

But whenever I get the opportunity, I will write a song about and for God, praising and worshiping Him using His words.

There's something about that.., I just like to make Him happy. He deserves it ❤️

So, while most of Psalm 31 is about David's trouble, he still focuses on God's love and goodness. That's saying a lot.

I mean, honestly, how many of us are determined to praise God in the middle of our misery?

And yet, if we do, it shifts our focus from ourselves to where the focus should be: God.

He is the one, the only one, worthy of our attention, of our praise. And the only one capable of fixing our mess ;)

I love how the Message translation puts it:

'Blessed God, His love is the wonder of the world.'

And it is. Try to imagine the world without God's love. Without God's mercy.

For some reason, I felt like playing this song on a dulcimer (it's a four string instrument, placed on your lap).

It's not something I do every day. But if you like it, I might just do it again ;)

This song is an ode to God. My God. The God of Love. Blessed God 🙌
