New American Standard Bible (NASB1995)

Sometimes when we're so familiar with a story, it could lose its meaning, its impact.

This story of Jesus silencing the storm and sea could be such a story.

But for a second, picture yourself in this boat with the disciples. A wall of waves and the wind howling, trying to tear your boat to shreds. You're scared out of your mind. And this Jesus, He's sleeping. I mean, who sleeps in a time like this?!

So we wake Him up. "You gotta help us, we're drowning, we're all gonna die!"

And He looks at you. A bit annoyed, almost like He's saying, why did you wake me up, I was sleeping. Then He turns to the waves and wind and says: Silence, be still!

And everything calms down, instantly. And the sea becomes smooth as glass..

Tell me this wouldn't fill you with fear and awe at the same time? I bet you'd say: who is this Man? That even the winds and sea obey Him?!

Then this Man turns to you and says: why are you afraid? Where is your faith? In other words: why don't you trust me?

And that's the thing right there. When we're in a storm, we want it to pass as soon as possible.

Note that just because Jesus was in the boat it didn't mean there would be no storm. There was. But they should've known better. Jesus was with them.

But did you know, that since we're born again, we have that same power and authority? Jesus left this earth so we could have the Holy Spirit. God's spirit!

He's given us the authority and power to speak to the storms in our lives. To our mountains, our problems and circumstances.

There's a time to pray, and there's a time to act and speak. To use your God-given authority.

Don't tell God how big your problem is, tell your problem how big your God is. And put that faith into action! 🔥😊
