Jeremiah 22/31 - Love, Love, and More Love

31:3 "I’ve never quit loving you and I never ever will.
Expect love, love, and more love!"

22:6. "I love you as much as fruitful Gilead
and the green forests of Lebanon."

How beautiful you are
That's how much I love you

31:6. "Come, let us go up to Jerusalem
to worship the Lord our God."

31:7 "Sing with joy"
"Shout with joy"

Jeremiah 31:3 from The Message Translation (MSG)
Jeremiah 22:6 and 31:6-7 from The New Living Translation (NLT)

'How beautiful you are' from Song of songs 4:1, New International Version (NIV)

Italics ‘Ever’ and ‘That's how much I love you’ added by author.

The love of God. God's Love. God's deep, burning, passionate love for YOU, you personally.

I sometimes feel that this has become a platitude to a lot of people. Something that has lost its true meaning.

You know, almost on a daily basis we have people complaining about stuff. We used the wrong translation, how dare we depict a junkie in our videos with God's word, how dare we depict a prostitute in our videos, and my personal favorite: don't we know Christians are watching this? :) And the list goes on..

God's love.

That's why I love it that we have so many translations to choose from. I mean, take last week, Phil 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always". It's a beautiful verse, but sometimes because we've heard it so often, a new translation like "Celebrate God, I mean revel in Him!" (MSG) can feel like a splash of fresh, cool water!

And so it is with this verse in Jer 31:3

"I have never quit loving you, and never will. Expect love, love and more love!"

If that doesn't put a smile on your face and gets your blood pumping, I don't know what will! :)

I mean, that's our God, people! If you think He only loves the clean-cut, I-have-it-going-on, I-have-it-all-figured-out Christians, then you're sorely mistaken.

Jesus walked the streets with the scum of the earth, the misfits. And that's where the Word of God belongs, in the streets! With ordinary people, in everyday life. He's not scared of your mess.

But this love is like a roaring river, meant to swim in, go under, meant to get you ALL wet, AND the people around you!

So don't just talk about the love of God, but BE the love of God, here, on this crazy planet.

This song is well over 6 minutes long. Do yourself a favour, watch or listen the full length song, I dare you to sit still! 👌🔥😜
