Isaiah 55 - Is Anyone Thirsty
1. “Is anyone thirsty?
Come and drink—
even if you have no money!
Come, take your choice of wine or milk—
it’s all free!
2. Why pay for food that does you no good?
Listen to me, and you will eat what is good.
You will enjoy the finest food."
3. “Come to me with your ears wide open.
Listen, and you will find life."
10. “The rain and snow cause the grain to grow."
11. "It is the same with my word, it will prosper everywhere I send it."

37. “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!
38. Anyone who believes in me may come and drink!"

Junkfood. The name says it all. Like fast food.
It's food for when you're in a hurry, wanna eat something easy and fast. But we KNOW it's not healthy food. Matter of fact, it leaves you hungry, bloated and unfulfilled.
This Isaiah foreshadows the words of Jesus: "Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!" (John 7:37 NLT)
And best of all, it's completely free!

And better still, it's the finest food and drink you'll ever encounter!
Isn't it ironic, that we KNOW what's good for us, still so often we settle for less, with inferior food and drink. Leaving us wanting more.
But note what it says: "Hungry" (..), Thirsty".
This is not talking about feeling a bit peckish, a quick snack or anything like that.
But about wandering through the wilderness, through the desert and all you can think about is a tall glass of cool water.
That's Jesus, that's the Word. Only He can quench your thirst. And best of all, will turn you into a well. Rivers of living water will pour out of you. Ready to share that Water with anybody who's thirsty!
