Isaiah 38/40 - The Lord Is Ready To Heal Me
Isaiah 38:
14. My eyes grew tired of looking to heaven for help.
I am in trouble, Lord. Help me!”
16. You restore my health
and allow me to live!
20. the Lord is ready to heal me!
I will sing his praises every day of my life
Isaiah 40:
31. Those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not [be] faint.
New Living Translation (NLT)
[be] from New International Version (NIV)
Every Isaiah-song is special to me, but this one, Isaiah 38/40, I especially like.
It's got two themes: the cry for healing and God's promise: if you trust (in) Him, you'll find new strength, new hope, you'll run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint.
Before I surrendered my life, my everything to God, my Papa, I've struggled for over 20 years with depression, a longing for death and addictions.
In my life 'without God', I always felt close to eagles. Those beautiful, majestic birds.
After I gave my life to Him, one of the first verses the Holy Spirit breathed into me was Isaiah 40:31
I love that verse. It also reminds me of what Jesus told us "remain in me and I'll remain in you". (John 15:4)
He freed me from depression, but I all too well feel the pain Hezekia was in in Isa 38, his cry for life, cry for an answer.
I am now free from depression. But I am not bulletproof. If I let go of His hand, even one day, I put myself at risk.
So I start every day with Him. With His word. Cause I need it. I can't and don't want to live without it. His words are like a fine comb combing thru my spirit, that gets rid of everything that was not meant for me.
If you're dealing with depression, anxiety, or whatever mental (or physical) illness. Sing these words, His words, out loud. Give your pain or whatever it is to Him. He wants you to be alive. FULLY alive! And soar high like an eagle! 🙌 🦅
