The Message (MSG)

Expect!

Imagine yourself surrounded by drought, by war, by famine, by despair.

Nobody would hold it against you if you'd feel depressed, sad, disappointed, angry even.

Not this man, Habakkuk. You know why?

He has a close and personal relationship with his God. He KNOWS his God.

In chapter one he voiced his disappointment and bewilderment to God. In chapter two he becomes stil and is waiting for God to answer. Then God answers. It's still not visible, but that doesn't matter to Habakkuk. He knows when God promises something, it's a done deal. It's going to happen.

But instead of waiting, as in chapter 2, he takes an advance on God's goodness and sees himself surrounded by good times. It's gonna rain again, there will be food again, peace again, God's goodness will prevail. This is not the end. And as he's filled with an expectant hope he's permeated with joy!

He starts praising, thanking God for what is going to happen. He's turning cartwheels of joy! Isn't that amazing?! I think it is!

I'm not saying it's easy to do. This all falls or stands with trust. Do you trust God? Really trust and believe His words, His promises. Do you trust His goodness?

Then take your problem, whatever it is, sickness, financial problems, depression, anxiety, someone's hurt you, whatever it is. Be like Habakkuk, trust God's goodness and imagine yourself healthy, better, happy, lacking nothing and start thanking God for what He's about to do. Be joyfully expectant!

And if you feel REALLY confident, then turn those cartwheels of joy! 😅👌
