Revelation 1 - Son of Man

13. I saw the Son of Man,
in a robe and gold breastplate,

14. hair a blizzard of white,
Eyes pouring fire-blaze,

15. His voice a roar,

16. right hand holding the Seven Stars,
His mouth a sharp-biting sword,
his face a blinding sun.

17. Don’t be afraid!
I am First, I am Last, I’m Alive.

18. I died, but I came to life, and my life is now forever.
And I hold the keys of death and the grave.

5. Glory and strength to Christ, who loves us,
who blood-washed our sins from our lives,

6. Who made us a Kingdom, Priests for his Father,
forever

7. And yes, he’s on his way!
Riding the clouds, he’ll be seen by every eye

The Message Translation (MSG)

Verse 17/18 partly from New Living Translation (NLT):
[Don’t be afraid!] [And I hold the keys of death and the grave.]

How I've longed and looked forward to the release of this song. Every song I write is special to me, but just a few songs have that extra special... and this is one of them.

This is my ode to Jesus. Son of Man (Rev 1)

Let me give you a little background story.

We (the Spirit and me) started this Project of Love in 2021. The first book I was asked to translate to music was the amazing book of Isaiah. That was a special time. No social media, no pressure, just me, Papa, Jesus and the Spirit writing songs together. That's my idea of heaven.. :)

His presence was tangible and overwhelming at times. After Isaiah we took on some Psalms. I loved every minute of it. But still, all old testament. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the old testament, but I began to long for the days that I could sing 'Jesus'.

And then finally one day, the Spirit led me to the book of Revelation. In the beautiful Message translation.

And there He was, Jesus 🔥🔥

In my spirit the Spirit highlighted the verses He'd like me to sing. And this time I could not only sing about Jesus but actually sing the words Jesus speaks in Revelation 1.

And as a bonus in the outro of the song I could, and so can you now, bless and worship Him. Man, that still gets me every time..

This song has it all for me. It's all about Jesus. Granted, the name Jesus is not literally in it, but He is in every fiber of this song.

I've (we've) written a lot of songs since then, but still, every time I get to sing the name of Jesus, it's special. I can't really explain, it's like honey in my mouth. It's like His name is meant to be sung and worshiped. So come on, join me in worship! 😊🔥🙌
