New Living Translation (NLT)

I remember when I wrote this song. I loved the 'lyrics' of 44, but I had no idea how to go about it. Every song I write I always write together with the Holy Spirit. He's the Art to my Paul, the John to my ..Paul again ;)

He tells me things like which key and tempo the song is gonna be in, but most of the time I will already have a melody in mind and will run ahead of Him like an overexcited labrador set loose on the beach or field :)

But not this time. And in such cases, I will pray expressly for the Spirit to guide and inspire me. And He did, instantly! Out came this beautiful, almost lullaby kinda melody. So playful, innocent and vulnerable.

And to this day I feel like it's Papa Himself who is singing this song, like a lullaby, before I go to sleep (or whenever I need reassurance). Telling me, it's alright, I made you, I got you, I paid the price, you've got nothing to worry about. Just lay your head to rest and join the song of heaven and earth: I have paid the price to set you FREE! 🙌❤️
