1 Peter 2 - By His Stripes You Are Healed

9. But you are a chosen generation,
a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
His own special people,
that you may proclaim the praises of Him
who called you out of darkness
into His marvelous light.

10. From nothing to something,
from rejected to accepted.

24. Who Himself bore our sins
in His own body on the tree,
that we, having died to sins,
might live for righteousness-
by whose stripes you were healed.

By His wounds you are healed.

His wounds became your healing.
His wounds became my healing.

By the stripes of Jesus I am healed.

New King James Version (NKJV).

Verse 10: the Message Translation (MSG).

Verse 24:

  • 'By His wounds you are healed' New Living Translation (NLT)
  • 'His wounds became your healing' the Message Translation (MSG)

By His stripes, you are healed.

There's an enemy out there who's looking to steal, kill, and destroy.

It always amazes me that most Christians have no trouble believing that when a man or woman gives their life to Jesus and asks for forgiveness, they are forgiven and saved.

I mean, some people, like myself, have led a lifetime of sin—lying, stealing, murdering, raping—but they find Jesus, repent, and they're saved. And we celebrate (as we should). Nobody has a problem with that.

But with scriptures like 1 Peter 2, "By His stripes, you are healed," out come the objections and theological rectifications.

But I believe it really is that simple. By His stripes, you are healed. If you don't believe that and think sickness is given by God, then why go to a doctor? Isn't that defying the will of God?

If we believe God is love, like the Bible says, and Jesus tells us the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, then to whom do you think sickness belongs?

Why would God want to heal you spiritually but want to make you sick physically? And why would there be any difference at all since we are created in His image—body, soul, and spirit?

If God only cared about your spiritual well-being, then why would Jesus go through all the trouble of healing the sick?

It's simple: if you don't want to believe that Jesus bore your sickness, then don't. You'll still be saved; if anything, you're likely to meet Him sooner. 😉 But if you do believe, start building your faith. It's a journey and a process.

Thank God for Jesus! Thank You, Jesus, for taking my place so that I can now receive the blessing You wanted me to have in the first place. By Your stripes, I AM healed. 🙏❤️

PS: I'm not saying it's easy. I have my own struggles with my health. But I am saying I choose to believe God's word. We walk by faith, not by sight.

And remember, we're all just one 'Yes' away from becoming a royal priest 🙌
